Here is a little history about myself. I was born in Connecticut and lived
in the same town most of my life. I graduated in 1992 from Central
Connecticut State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education
and a Minor in Reading. After graduation I obtained a job as a
paraprofessional in a middle school working with special needs children. The
following year I was hired by another middle school to teach seventh and
eigth graders. I taught U.S. History, World Geography and English. In 1995
I married my husband and moved to Michigan. I was a substitute teacher for
about a year and then I was hired to teach fourth grade. The following year
I taught first grade. Next I taught both first and second grade in the same
classroom. It was a challenge but it helped me to complete my master's
thesis on Multigrade Classrooms. I recieved my Master's Degree in Early
Childhood Education from Saginaw Valley University. I then taught second and
third grade in the same classroom. In 2000, our first daughter was born and
we moved to upper state New York. In 2002 our second daughter was born and
we soon moved to New Boston. Since moving to New Boston I have been active
in the community. I was the chairperson of the committee to build the new
playground next to the town hall, Vice President of Little People's Depot,
Vice President of the NBCS PTA, Coach of my daughter's softball team and
President of the NBCS PTA. Curretnly I volunteer for the PTA and is the
chairperson of the Read A Thon Committee. I care about this community and
will do what needs to be done to make it great!
