Artist in Residence 2009-2010
Under the guidance and direction of Rob, each
student will texture and glaze a 6”x6” tile that will be a part of the
landscape of six large grade-level murals, depicting the PiscataquogRiver
and the land around it. Art, science, and language arts will be woven
together in creating the design for the murals.
Rob will be working with students in the art room
Feb. 1-5 and again March 1-5. There will also be a Community Clay Night,
March 4 at 6:30 in the gym for community members, parents, and children. The
murals will be permanently installed on the Charlie Buck barn at the 4-H
grounds and the unveiling is scheduled for June 10. More information to
follow.
As with all Artist in Residence projects, I will
be asking for volunteers to help with set up, in the art classes (Feb 1-5 and
March 1-5) and with the installation (May).
We thank the New Boston PTA, the School Board, and
the Piscataquog Land Conservancy for their financial support.
