Every spring, an Orientation Night is held in order to acquaint parents of
incoming kindergarten and first graders with the registration process.
Various staff members speak about what to expect when children come to
kindergarten and first grade, and an opportunity to ask questions is provided.
Students who attend kindergarten at P.E.S. will come for a tour of "the big
school" with their class and teachers. Ms. Laroche will show them some of
the 1st grade classrooms to see what they are like. They will also visit the
Music Room, Art Room, Media Center, Nurse's Office, Gymnasium, and the Student
Dining Area. Parents of children who attend other kindergarten programs are
welcome to call Ms. Laroche and schedule individual tours of the building at
their convenience.
Mrs. Flaherty will be working with the 5th and 6th grade staff to develop an
orientation program for 5th graders making the transition to middle school in
the spring.
