I have been teaching for nineteen years. I was a preschool teacher for
four years, a special educator for two years, and I have taught first
and second grade for the last eleven years, looping from first to second. For
the last three years I have solely taught second grade.
I have a dual certification in elementary education and special education
from Rivier College and a Masters in Elementary Education from Fitchburg
State. I have continued taking courses; and I have just finished 30 extra
credits since I received my Masters.
I live in Tyngsboro, MA with my husband and my dog Roscoe. My daughters
have graduated from college and they are both employed at Fidelity
Investments. They live in the area and visit often. I love to read, hike,
swim, travel, entertain, go to the movies, and be with my
friends and family.
I am very excited to be teaching second grade. It's always
exciting to meet new students. When I was in grade school, my favorite year
was second grade. I hope to make second grade your favorite year too!
My mission is to create life-long learners, thinkers, and problem-solvers.
I want to understand each child emotionally and academically, and provide
all that they need in order to grow and develop, at their own pace, both
socially and academically.
My classroom atmosphere will be a place where each child feels safe, valued,
and respected for who they are. I want each child to feel successful, yet
challenged. I want each child to like coming to school and learning, and I
want parents to be a supportive part of their child's education at school
and at home.
