Hi everyone! I am very pleased to be the Library Media Specialist at Pelham
Elementary School and look forward to meeting you when you stop by. I have
worked in elementary, middle school and public libraries before coming here
to Pelham Elementary and have found that being around books is one of my
favorite places to be! I'm hoping that you will feel the same way whenever you
visit our library media center to check out all of the wonderful books and
materials we have here.
To tell you a little bit about myself, a few years ago I moved here
from the Burlington, Vermont area where I had lived for about 30 years.
Vermont is a very beautiful state like New Hampshire and I miss it very much
but I have a chance to go back and visit my son, Matthew, his wife, Tiffany
and my granddaughter, Sky, who all live in Shelburne, Vermont. I
now live close by in Dracut, Massachusetts with my daughter, Taihlin, who
recently graduated from high school and is attending college. Taihlin loves
to read and from the time she could walk, she would carry an armful of books
with her where ever she went and is now usually reading two or three books at
a time!
I am a certified Library Media Specialist and also graduated from the
University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education K-
12. Alongside my love of books, is my love of art and as an artist I paint
with acrylics and watercolor, draw with charcoal and pencils and love
experimenting with new materials and ideas in my studio at Western Avenue
Studios in Lowell, Massachusetts. During my coursework at UVM, I studied the
integration of art with literacy and plan to bring these creative ideas to
our library lessons when your classroom comes in for library class.
I am thrilled to be here at Pelham Elementary School so please feel free to
ask for my assistance at any time in the Library Media Center.
See you all soon!
Hello everyone! I am absolutely thrilled to be joining PES this year as the
library assistant to Ms. Green. Although this is my first time working in a
school environment, I can tell you that I am eager to take on this challenging
opportunity. Like Ms. Green, I too am most comfortable being around books,
and I spend a great deal of my free time enjoying some quiet time with a good
read. I can say with complete confidence that working in a library is what I
have always wanted to do, which is why I am so happy to be here at PES. In
addition as an added bonus to me, my children Manny and Elise (grades 5 and 3
respectively) are both students at PES, and my 2 year old Caeden eventually
will follow.
About me personally: I grew up in Lowell, Massachusetts, graduating from
Lowell High School in 1995. After attending several semesters at the
University of Massachusetts at Lowell, I left with my husband, Michael, as he
had recently joined the Marines and was being stationed in South Carolina.
After spending a couple years in South Carolina, we were transferred to
Virginia, which is where we remained until 2008, at which time we decided to
move back to New England. Having family in Pelham and always loving its
country feel, we ultimately decided that this is where we wanted to raise our
family.
Starting this new chapter in my life is so exciting, and I know that it will
be as rewarding as I always imagined it would be. I’m looking forward to
meeting and working with all of you in the future!
