Dear Taha,
Happy Birthday!! We hope you are having a fantastic birthday with your family!
Things are busy here. We are getting our report cards now, and our parents are meeting with Miss Dobe for conferences. This week we only have 2 days of school. That's because of Thanksgiving. In class we have been talking a lot about the first Thanksgiving with the Pilgrims and the Native Americans. We also have been looking at maps. We have seen where the 7 continents are, and we have been working on North, East, South, and West. We even saw where Pakistan is! You are half way around the world!
This past week we got to go on the computers to the owl pellet website we told you about in our last letter. We also got to read the book Owl Moon and do paintings that went along with the story. Then we had to put our pictures in order to retell the story. It was tricky, but we got to put them together and make a class book. In math we learned something pretty cool. We learned how to add with regrouping. It was hard at first, but it's OK once you get the hang of it.
Well, it's time for us to go for now. We miss you. We will write soon and let you know what is going on around here in Room 203!

Dear Taha,
We miss you already! We hope you had a safe trip, and that you are having a nice time with your family. We wanted to tell you all about our week so it would feel like you were right here with us.
We will start with the most exciting thing about the week. We got to take apart real owl pellets! Remember when the owls came to school and the lady told us about how the owls can't eat the fur and bones of their prey, and that's why they need to cough up a pellet? Well we saw the real thing! They were mostly fur, but we found a whole bunch of little bones inside. It was awesome! The really neat thing is that Miss Dobe put a link on the class website for a computer game that lets you take apart an owl pellet online. Now you can try it too right on the computer!
We also colored paper owls and took them outside to hide them. Mrs. Dunbar's class had to find our owls, and we found theirs. We learned that the owls that were colored like real owls were harder to find because they blended in, just like in the wild.
In Unified Arts we were busy this week. We learned some gymnastics
things in PE, and we made pop-up guys in Art, just like real pop-up
books. In music we got to be composers and write our own music. It was pretty cool.
This week we did plenty of other things too. We learned a new math game. We did a writing project where you got to pretend to design your own money. We had a day off on Wednesday for Veteran's Day, and on Friday we celebrated Mikey's birthday!
Well, we hope you liked hearing about the week. If you can, you should write back to us. Your parents have Miss Dobe's email address. If not, it's ok, but we hope you are doing well. We'll write more next Friday. Bye Taha!
