What do I need for class?
You need a covered book, writing utensil, homework, binder, and a positive
attitude.
Will I be able to get my homework in my locker once class gets started?
No, you will not be able to.
How often are quizzes and tests?
Quizzes are typically once a week with a test at the end of the chapter.
What can I do if I'm absent?
You can look in the bin for class notes and worksheets passed out the
previous day. If you like, you can even check this web site to see if you
have book work to make up or if you have to get a worksheet the next time
you are in.
Can I use a study buddy to get any notes if I'm absent?
Absolutely!!
When can I reach you?
Usually, I arrive at school early, so you can try calling before school,
during my planning period (12:07 - 1:07), or after school.
Will you be able to provide personal information if I email you?
No, I will not be able to. If you like, you can call me at the designated
times throughout the day.
Can you provide my child with extra help?
YES!! Unfortunately, the college that I went to did not provide the
education majors with a mind reading course :) so your student would know
BEST if they need help. I can only work with what I see in class. But
please feel free to give me a call if you feel that you child is having a
difficult time at home.
What is your grading like?
Homework is checked daily. It is based out of five points. 5 points if it
is all done with work, 3 points if homework is about half done, or if there
is no work, 1 point if minimal work/assignment is done, and a 0 for not
being done.
How your student's grade is weighted:
Homework: 20%
Quizzes: 30%
Test: 40%
Project: 10%
Why is showing work so important?
Work is important because it allows me to see where I need to focus for the
benefit of the student. If just an answer is given, I can not help the
student learn from his/her mistake.
