SEPTEMBER:
Communication between home and school will be an important way of supporting
the children throughout the year. Please check their backpacks each day as
they will need your help in getting into a routine.
Specials for this year will be on a rotating six day schedule. Please refer
to the schedule that was sent home. Thank you.

HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS ARE FOR READING PRACTICE ONLY, THESE ARE NOT SPELLING
WORDS. Your support in helping the children practice these words each week
is appreciated and will give the children a firm foundation as they build
their reading skills. These high frequency words will be gradually added to
our classroom Word Wall which will be used as an interactive tool throughout
the year.
We are using the Investigations Math program. The children will be bringing
home sets of cards and directions for playing various games. We will be
starting with Compare and Double Compare. Later we will be playing Tens Go
Fish. Please keep the cards in the baggie for safe keeping. Continue playing
the games frequently as the children will improve with practice.
