Step 1 - Egypt Research Paper - Parent Letter

ANCIENT EGYPT RESEARCH PAPER

Dear Parents,

In Social Studies class the students will be exploring an area of interest in Ancient Egypt. As part of this unit the students will be writing a research paper in order to expand their knowledge on this topic and learn valuable research methods. The process used to construct the report is covered in class, whereas the information gathering is primarily done outside the classroom. There will be several steps involved and a due date will be set for each one. These dates are important as points will be deducted if the time frames are not met.

Materials needed:

  • 75 lined index cards
  • 5 sources of information. At least 2 printed sources: book, encyclopedia, or magazine.
  • A container to keep the index cards in (a zip-lock baggie works great).

The report is equal to a test grade; therefore, reminding your child that a due date is approaching would be extremely helpful. Located on the back is the grading process, which will be used to evaluate the Egypt research paper and the due dates.

Any assistance you can give your child with this report will be greatly appreciated. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns by; letter, phone (635-2321), or email (cgariepy@pelhamsd.org).

Thank you for your support,

Mrs. Gariepy
