Dear Parents,
Our Science NECAP state testing is happening this week in the afternoon until the end of the day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please try to refrain from dismissing your child early if possible, because once the test has begun they can not go back another day to complete it. If your child needs to be dismissed, please do it before the test begins and they will be able to make it up at another time.
The homework will be limited this week so the children can have a good night's sleep and be ready to do their best on the test. There will be a spelling list but the test will be the following week. We will be reading a story but that too will stretch over two weeks with the reading test the next week.
Please remember to have the children log all their minutes of reading on their log that will be collected at the end of the month. My substitute tells me there are still several reading logs from April that have not been turned in. Please send those in ASAP.
Our field trip to the State House is quickly approaching. We are going next week, Tuesday, May 14. The children need to be dressed well, party clothes if possible, to represent our school with pride. The busses will be leaving at 9:00AM so please have your child into school on time. Perhaps we will get to meet our new governor!
