*** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 5/4/09 ***
Due to the concern of the possible spreading of germs, it is in your child's
best interest to bring a water bottle to school so that he/she doesn't have to
use the water fountains during the day. This practice should continue until
the end of the school year, since it is already getting quite warm in our
upstairs classroom. Please be forewarned that requests to leave the room to
get a drink of water during or at the start of instructional time will be
denied.

It is very important that you are fluent in your basic multiplication and
division facts, so you should be studying them every night. Flashcards are a
great way to do this. There is also a math game to help you with this at
http://www.pearsonsuccessnet.com. Knowing your multiplication and division
facts will be a tremendous help when we start working on double-digit
multiplication and long division.

It can get quite warm in our room upstairs, so there are many requests during
the day for students to go down the hall to get a drink of water. In order to
cut down on the numerous interruptions during instructional time, I would
like each student to bring in a water bottle to keep at his seat. I would
prefer bottles with pull-tops rather than screw-on caps to help cut down on
the accidental spills. Thank you for your cooperation.
