Dear Parents,
Happy Holidays! I hope you all enjoyed Thanksgiving Holiday. It was
very nice to see you all at Parent-Teacher Conference. It was exciting to
share the growth your child has made since September.
In reading we will begin reading long vowel words. In writing we
continue learning about ideas, voice , word choice and conventions. The
children will be adding the 5 w's to their writing (what, where, when, who &
why). Math workshop will bring upon subtraction. Social Studies we will be
learning about holidays around the world.
The month brings upon many exciting activities. First, I need all recipes
to be turned in no later than Friday. One week this month, our theme will be gingerbread,
one week will be Polar Express and the other will be Christmas Around the World.
We will have a classroom holiday craft fair on Monday, December 14th. We will
go on a pretend train ride aboard the Polar Express on December 17th (The kids
will be asked to bring in p.j's, slippers and a packet of hot chocolate).
We will have a holiday party on Tuesday, December 22nd. Mrs. Farris will be
in touch to plan the menu. We will have a holiday gift exchange. We will
have a theme to prevent tears. Everyone will get something along the same idea.
I will send home more information at a later date.
*would anyone like the honors of making us a gingerbread house to decorate??
We will have our own holiday tree. Students may bring in a ornament to place
on the tree. Ornaments will be sent back home . This month brings upon many
crafts. I will list below supplies that would be helpful.
