*Send in a note with your child following their absence.
*Please send in a healthy snack/drink each day.
Please be sure they have utensils if needed.
*Please empty your child's folder each evening. I will check the children's folders every morning for
notes.
*Please send your child's lunch money in a sealed envelope with your child's name and account
number on it.
*Please let your child know each morning whether they are buying lunch or bringing it from home.
Birthdays
Please send birthday invitations through the mail to prevent hurt feelings. They are
NOT allowed to be passed out in school.
We would love to celebrate your child's birthday in school. He/She is welcome to bring in a special
snack to share with the class.
Please send in 24 of the same item. We will celebrate birthdays during our daily snack block or preferable during the morning. Morning birthday treats like munchkins/ muffins, fruit salad, rice krispie treats.. .... work out great because the kids can break up their snacking throughout the school day, rather than be overloaded with snack food at the end of the day.
Homework
Spelling
Your child will be responsible for spelling words beginning October. A spelling list
will go home every Monday. Please help your child to study during the week.
Spelling test will be every Friday. I keep the scoring positive. I will grade
them as a fraction (ex. 9/10 and a * if they get the bonus word correct). Please keep in mind that all children
learn differently and a modified spelling list will be sent home if necessary
Field Trips
I will send home field trip information that will ask for parent volunteers. I will put the names in a
hat and have a student pick the appropriate numbers of chaperones needed. I will be sure to let
others volunteer before parents have the chance to go on a second field trip.
Box Office
To go along with the movie theme in our classroom, the children are rewarded for positive behavior
and good choices by visiting the box office each Friday. The children will start each week with 3
movie tickets. They need to hold on to their movie tickets by making good choices, helping others,
being respectful, following the rules, being kind and trying hard. The children have to give up a
ticket if rules are not followed. The children need at least 1 ticket at the end of the week to
visit the box office. I encourage you all to ask your child if they went to box office on Friday and if not, how
they can get their next week. Box Office is fun, exciting and rewarding. Box office consist of a fun pencil, tattoo,
small toys or small treat.
IF ANYONE HAS A CONCERN ABOUT THEIR CHILD GETTING A TREAT , PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE . It would be a huge help if everyone could donate
to help stock our box office. Whatever you donate to the treasure box, it would be great if there could
be 24 of the same.
Thank you!
I hope I have answered some frequently asked questions. If you have any questions, please feel free
