We are pleased to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and to
welcome your child into our classes. A good learning experience is built on a
cooperative effort among parent, child, and teacher. We look forward to the
the work and growth we will accomplish this year.
Mrs.Carr and Mrs. Strasburger have been teaming for 13 years. Mrs. Carr's
credentials include certifications in elementary and special education. Mrs.
Strasburger's credentials include certifications in elementary education and
literacy.
Although we are experienced teachers, we continue to pursue professional
development in order to be life-long learners. We anticipate each day as an
opportunity to inspire the children to achieve to their potential.
Our mission is to nurture each student's self esteem so that he/she will
develop the confidence to reach their academic potential. We encourage
student ownership of the classroom and commitment to the classroom
community.
We want all children to enjoy the learning process, and we strive to help
them develop their own motivation for learning. We believe that modeling is
a powerful way to affect a child's learning. Please model the love of
learning by reading to and in front of your child. Set aside a quiet, well
lit area with adequate space and supplies for your child to study. This
reinforces the value that you place on educational responsibilities. With
your participation both in and out of the classroom, we can look forward to a
productive, creative, and enjoyable year together.
If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know. This can be done
on a weekly, bi-weekly, or occasional basis. Any help you can give will be
warmly appreciated and provides opportunities for more children to receive
personal attention.
