Preparing for your IEP Meeting

Often preparing for an IEP meeting can be stressful. The list below
are just some suggestions for preparation for the meeting.

1 Write down any questions that you have before you come to the meeting. That way you can make sure you ask the questions that you need answers to.
2 Bring with you any input that you want to add to the IEP (if you haven't already).
3 Remember you know your child best. You live with them. :)
4 The team will develop an IEP based on the needs of your child. An IEP is a good faith document that can be revised any time with your permission.
5 When the team is done you have the right to think about the proposed IEP for up to 14 days and more if the district agrees. The new IEP will not be put into effect until the school distirct receives your permission .
