This is a rough idea of our daily schedule. We have both a picture and
written schedule posted in our classroom so that the children know when
different activities will occur. Every child also has his/her own paper copy
of the daily schedule. As an activity is finished, the picture and word cards
are flipped over and the children color the corresponding picture on their
paper schedule. This way, they can judge what activity will be next.
Our Specialist schedule is as follows:
Monday - We have NO specialists on Monday
Tuesday - Music with Mrs. Wellman
Wednesday - Art with Mrs. Stoney
Thursday - Computer AND Phys. Ed - IMPORTANT to wear sneakers on Thursday!
Friday - Library with Mrs. Trombley
8:45-9:00 - Carpool/bus arrival
9:00 - Go upstairs and begin getting organized for the day
9:00-9:10 - Backpacks and jackets put away/ folders put into bin/ car off
the road to show that you are present/
9:10 - 9:20 - Greeting Circle and Flag
9:20 - 10:00 - Calendar and Movement & Song
10:00 - 10:15 - Morning Snack
10:15 - 10:55 - Work Time
10:55 - 11:45 - (Tuesday - Friday) - Specialist (see above)
Monday - Language Arts
11:45 - 12:20 - Language Arts
12:20 - 12:40 - Lunch
12:45 - 1:30 - Free Choice
1:30 - 2:00 - Rest Time (except on Thursday)
(Phys. Ed. on Thursday 1:30 - 2:15)
2:00 - 2:25 - Playground
2:25 - 2:45 - Show and Tell
2:45 - 3:10 - Math
3:10-3:20 - Organize backpacks. Put on jackets (learn to zip, snap, etc.)
3:25 - Dismissal
