New Behavior System Now in Effect

The new behavior management system worksheet should have been received at home by now.  If your child has made enough poor choices to get to the "blue level,"  this is a sample of the form that will be sent home.  Please sign the bottom of the yellow sample and send it back acknowledging that you are aware of the new system being implemented in the third, fourth and fifth grades at South Range School.  The upper grades have found this system to be very effective, resulting in increased learning time as well as improvement in respecting others.  I anticipate your support of this effective behavior management system.

XtraMath.org
This will become a regular homework assignment, which will be posted in the Assignment notebook.  Please ensure that your child practices math facts regularly outside of the assigned nights.  Students will be assigned specific nights when it is expected that they will practice and self-test their math fact knowledge.  This will be considered a home assignment.  My account is linked with the students so I am able to track their progress.

Friday Folder (which is the red South Range School folder)
Just a friendly reminder that these folders go home every Friday.  This folder will include finished and graded work as well as any notices.  If a notice must go home on a certain day, your child will put it in his/her homework folder.  Please take the time to review these papers with your child.  Praise the excellent papers and gently review errors on others.  Any paper with a grade below 70% needs to be signed and returned on Monday in the folder.  Your signature is my checkpoint that you are aware of your child’s grade on a particular assignment.  All papers with a grade of 70% and above are yours to keep.  There is room for comments or questions, and I encourage you to use this quick method of communication.  Please sign the folder and return it on Monday.
