Dear Parents,

Thank you for your patience and cooperation this first week of school.  We feel that the children are becoming more comfortable as we continue to practice our daily routine. We are very pleased.

I am starting my seventh year at St. Catherine School teaching

Pre-Kindergarten. My teaching experience includes Grades one, two, and three.

Mrs. Anctil is starting her seventh year with the Pre-K program and this is Mrs. Aiken's second year in Pre-K.  I am very happy to be working with two dedicated and caring individuals.

Thank you for sending in the supplies for the classroom and for labeling your child's belongings. 

Just a few reminders:

When sending in checks for Hot Lunch and Milk, please write separate checks for each one payable to St. Catherine School.

If your child is going to be absent, please call the school (622-1711). We will be notified about the absenteeism.

If you have not returned the parent signature page in the student handbook, please do so.  We like to take pictures of the children participating in various activities and it is important that we have your permission to display them on our website, in school, and with our parents.

The children have snack time around 9:30AM each day.  Please try

to send in healthy snacks for this time of day.  If you send in juice for snack, please send in a small sized one.  Many children do not finish the larger container of juice at snack time and end up throwing it away.

Wednesday “white” Envelope needs to be signed and returned   the next school day. 

Your child's daily folder ( yellow or blue )needs to be returned to school each day.

Special Classes will begin next week.  The children will have Music class on Mondays with Mrs. Martinez, Computer class on Tuesdays with Mrs. Aiken, Art class on Wednesdays with Mrs. Holleran, Physical Education class on Thursdays with Mrs. Anzivino, and Library class on Fridays with Mrs. Gordan.

The children will need to wear sneakers for Physical Education class on Thursdays.

Each week you will receive, in your child's folder, a memo and a weekly calendar. We will be begin sending the weekly calendar  

on Friday, September 11.

The children will go out for recess three times each day weather permitting. The last recess is at 1:30PM.  We will not dismiss your child while we are outside at recess.  We will bring the children into the classroom and then dismiss from the classroom at 1:50PM.

Dear Parents,

Today we are sending home blankets, etc. for laundering.  Please return them on the next school day.

Open House will take place next Wednesday, September 16, at 7PM. Parents will go to the Gym for Welcoming comments by Sister Janet and Father Paul.  Pre-K and Kindergarten parents will be asked

to attend a special presentation in the Gym after. Parents will have an opportunity to visit the classroom after the presentation. Please note that Open House is for parents only.

This week we are sending home your child's Friday folder.  This folder will have our weekly memo and a weekly calendar.  We ask you to sign your name each week by the date to verify that you have received this information.

The children have started attending their special classes this week.  On Tuesday, they went to the Computer Lab, Wednesday, Art class, Thursday, PE, and Friday, Library Class.  Next Monday, they will be going to Music class for the first time.

Just a reminder-Both the cooking fee and Clifford Magazine fee are due. Please make checks payable to St. Catherine School.

Dear Parents,

Thank you for coming to Open House on Wednesday evening. We hope you enjoyed the power point presentation showing “A Day in Pre-K” and left knowing a little more about the

Pre-K program.

Today we are sending home blankets for laundering.  We decided to send them home weekly this year as a precaution due to the seriousness of the flu. Please send them back on the next school day.

Our apple trip is next Tuesday, September 22.  Please return the permission slip no later than Monday, September 21 along with the $4.00 fee.

Please pack your child a snack and a lunch on Tuesday. Please put this lunch in a bag with your child's name on it.  No lunch boxes please on Tuesday. If you ordered hot lunch for your child that day, we will give you a voucher toward a hot lunch for another day.  Children are to wear their PE uniform that day. Please remember to leave your child's car seat on Tuesday morning when you drop off your child at school. Chaperones/drivers need to be at school no earlier than 9:00am.         

Reminder—

Clifford Magazine Fee $4.50 due

and Cooking Activity Fee-$20.00 due

Please remember to pack a spoon in your child's lunch box for snacks such as jello, yogurt, fruit bowls, applesauce, pudding, etc.

Happy Birthday to Kyle B. and Kyle A. Both students celebrated their birthdays this week!
