How can my child improve his or her grade on science labs?

The format of labs is clearly explained in class and each step of the lab
writing is broken down for students. They are encouraged to put lots of
details in their PROCEDURE section. They are also encouraged to develop
their ideas in their CONCLUSION section. As we explain to them in class,
many of them have very good ideas about what happened in the experiment, but
often they do not fully explain what they think. We ask them to, "Develop
their ideas to improve their grades".

What kind of homework will my child have in social studies?

We recommend that students re-read pages at home that were covered in class
to reinforce learning. In this way, test preparation will be much easier.

Why do you read certain social studies lessons and not all of them?

The lessons and chapters that we cover in class are specified by the school
district in our curriculum. We read and discuss them in class, provide
reinforcement in class and send home study guides. We give tests on the
lessons that are specified by the school district.
