4A & 4B ILA Homework

**September**

September ILA Calendars will be sent home the first week of school.

A copy will be posted on the Homework Handouts page.

Students should be prepared for class everyday. Please bring your log, Writer's Notebook, and independent reading books (in their bag) to class every day.

Important Information for this Week:

  • Reading logs are not being completed this week. Students are expected to read for 20 minutes each night.
  • Students will be working this week to complete picture and poem prompts outside of their notebooks.
  • Reader's Notebooks letters have been cancelled until after the NJASK. We will be completing other work in the response section of our notebooks.

Monday, September

  • Read for 20 minutes and complete your reading log
  • Write 10 minutes in your Writer's Notebook

**General Information**

  • Read 20 minutes each night and record your "thinking" on your yellow Reading Log. Reading Logs should be signed by a parent/guardian on Thursday nights and handed in on Fridays.If you can not find your reading log or left it in school, please write your thinking on a piece of paper to bring in or click on the following link for a new log.
  • Write in your Writer's Notebook on Monday through Thursday nights for 10 minutes (should be about a half of a page). Writer's Notebooks are handed  in once a week:
            Monday #1-6    Tuesday #7-12   Wednesday #13-18    Thursday #19-24
    PLEASE remember to sign & return the blue Writer's Notebook Rubric paper.
  • Write a letter in your Reader's Notebook once a week. This letter should include 4 paragraphs: a response to my questions, a summary, a connection, and your thinking. Reader's Notebooks are handed in once a week:
            Monday #1-6    Tuesday #7-12   Wednesday #13-18    Thursday #19-24
    PLEASE remember to sign & return the green Reader's Notebook Rubric paper.
  • PLEASE remember to bring your independent reading books and Writer's Notebook to school EVERY DAY!
