Unit 5: Reviewing Skills and Strategies to Prepare for the NJASK

 

We are going to spend the next few weeks reviewing skills and strategies that will help us on the NJASK next month.

 

When answering open-ended questions, use the acronym RATS.

R = Restate the question in the first sentence of your answer.

A = Answer all parts of the question.

T = Tell an example from the text that supports or explains your answer.

S = Sum up you idea or answer.

 

When answering multiple choice questions, use the acronym READ.

R = Read the questions and all of the answerd

E = Eliminate any answers that don't make sense

A = Answer the question from your remaining choices

D = Double-check your answer by finding it in the text

 

 

Book Clubs: Andrew Clements Author Study

 

We will be continuing to read different Andrew Clements books in small groups. Please make sure to complete your Andrew Clements book club readings by the dates announced in class. You will not be allowed to participate in club meetings if you are unprepared.
