No Words Their Way this week. We will do Word Wall Words. No Spelling Quiz.
Reading- No RNB letter this week see schedule below.
Students made a chart with an example inside RNB on Monday and need to read daily and record thinking in one box or on a post-it and stick it in a box Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and during the weekend. So by Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 a total of 4 Post-its need to be complete.  Follow proper format too. Title of book, page or pages, date labled HW, strategy used, two sentences.  Be sure to cite text in your own wordsOn Monday night everyone needs to write a 2 sentence summary of the pages read that evening at home.
Writing- a few students have not finished their Realistic Fiction falling action and resolution and should spend 15 minutes working on it tonight.  Be sure to edit and revise as you go. Revisions go on the right side of notebook. No one is publishing at home.

Spelling Quizes will be Fridays for 5B and Thursdays for 5A to avoid having students miss it due to the change in our 5A ILA and Health schedule which created conflicts for verbal students in 5A last Friday.

RNB--Weekly letter due on day selected by student. Look on inside front cover for day and independent reading level.  An extra day (just let me know) to complete is not a problem.

Reader's Notebook Letter Schedule Information. Students selected the day to hand in their notebook for evaluation. I placed a label on the inside front cover of their notebook with the due day and the student's independent reading level. I have been very pleased with the thoughtful letters students have been writing about their reading and am delighted to see so many using the mini-lesson skills in their reading such as noticing how their character changes in the story due to problems that arrise.  Keep up the great thinking. :)

Be sure to record reading on log and complete a Post-it recording your thinking following proper format--pg on top line and date, active reading strategy used, thinking explained refering back to text. If a question is asked then write why you are asking it let me know what is happening in the book that makes you ask the question.   I wonder ____ because___.
