Our annual Gertrude Hawk fundraiser began this week and runs through October 17th. Please
return your orders with a check made payable to the "Bowne-Munro PTA" by October 17th. Orders
will be delivered on Tuesday, November 11th.
If you have not done so already, please return your entertainment book back to the school.
There are still 45 books outstanding. Out of town book orders will be fulfilled by the end of
October.
Picture Orders were due back to Bowne-Munro on October 6th. Photo orders will be delivered to
the school within 3-4 weeks. Still to be determined is the date for club pictures and
individual picture retakes. It will occur later this fall. Thank you for your support - the
PTA receives a percentage of picture sales from the photographer that we use to fund our many
programs during the year.
On Monday, October 13th the PTA will be sponsoring a Cultural Arts Assembly with author,
Patricia Polacco. You have the opportunity to purchase books for your child or as a gift. Each
book will have a signed bookplate placed in it by Patricia Polacco. Please use the order form
available on the Download PTA Forms page and make all checks payable to the "Bowne-Munro PTA".
Books will be delivered on the day of the assembly, October 13th.
Coming later this month - the PTA sponsored Book Fair and annual Fright Night. The book fair
will run from October 20th through October 23rd from 9AM -3PM and Fright Night will be held on
Friday, OCtober 24th from 7-9PM. Volunteers are needed to staff both events. Please click on

The Bowne-Munro Media Center is looking for volunteers for the 2008-2009 school year. Time
commitments are very flexible and can be either weekly or bi-weekly to meet your needs. Please
complete the Media Center volunteer form available on the Download PTA forms page.
Please join the PTA. Dues are $6 for individual and $12 for family membership. The memberhsip
form is available on the Download PTA forms page.
When sending Box Tops to school, please include your child's grade and teacher's name on the bag
or envelope. The PTA will be providing an ice cream party for the class that submits the most
Box Tops by the end of each collection period. The first collection period ends on October 27,
2008. More information about the Box Tops program is on the Ongoing Programs page.
