These are some of the questions that we've used in our class: 1. What is something for which you would like to be first? 2. What is something for which you would like to be last? 3. How can a person be like a refrigerator? 4. How can a person be like a rock? 5. How can a person be like an alarm clock? 6. What do you think is the most valuable thing in your school or home? 7. What makes this thing valuable? 8. What would you like someone you just met to know about you? 9. What would you like to know about someone you just met? 10. What color best describes or expresses your feelings about your life? 11. How does the color relate to the way you feel about life? 12. Write about your favorite food. Make it sound incredibly delicious by describing smells, sounds, textures, and what it looks like. For example: I love butterscotch pudding. It is golden and thick like caramel. It reminds me of honey and feels like a warm summer day on the tip of my tongue. 13. Do the opposite for your least favorite food: I hate Brussels sprouts! They look like dead trees and feel like golf balls that are stuck in my throat 14. Describe an object in your house that weighs more than you do. Include its color, shape, size, weight and location. Explain what it is made of, how many parts it has, its temperature, any identifying or unusual marks, what it does, how it works, if it moves, the sounds it makes, and any other information about 15. Are school uniforms a good or bad idea? Give your opinion and at least three reasons why you feel the way you do. 16. Ask one of your parents how they feel about school uniforms, and write about what they said.
