Is there time for snack each day?
Yes, we have snack around 10:00 am each day and the children bring in their
own. Please send in a healthy snack, no candy or gum. Please be mindful
that we are a "nut free" room when you are sending in snack or treat for
the class.
When are the children tested?
They are assessed on the mastery of various concepts after the unit is
taught and reviewed. There will usually be a study guide sent home for Math
& Social Studies well in advance of the tests. Science is a hands on subject
and most assessment will be conducted as need be with teacher demonstration
and student observation. Language Arts is on-going daily. The students will
prepare for the NJ Ask in May.
What about homework?
Students are responsible for copying their homework daily into their
agendas.Homework is given everyday except Friday. It should take no longer
then 1/2 hour. If it is taking the student longer, please contact me.
The Math Home Links are designed for an adult or older siblings
help, if needed. All homework is due the next day, unless specified. If your
child doesn't do their homework they are missing valuable follow-up
discussion on concepts taught. Practice multiplication facts daily.Return
Home Link book, Writers Notebook, and Word Work book daily. Please have your
child read each night.
