Attention Central School Parents
The first full week in October is Fire Prevention Week. As part of a state requirement, East Brunswick's Bureau of Fire Prevention plans and implements a protection and prevention education program in each of our elementary schools. That they do so is actually a State requirement. As part of their program this year, all schools will be showing a segment of a video created by Dr. Frank Field titled "Fire is Black." The district has posted this segment and four others from the video on the district website.
From the district's home page click on the Fire Prevention Week link...or simply click on or paste the following address in your web browser:

It is suggested that students in grades 1-4 view, with their parents, the "Fire Is Black" segment that they saw, or will see, in the assembly with the firemen.
The Fire Marshal's have also asked that the fifth graders view all of the segments with their parents, one at a time and fill out the form that can be downloaded from the site. They have asked that once the students finish the assignment they bring it in to school for the Fire Marshals to pick up.
To give everyone ample time to follow through with these suggestions, we will leave this information on the site through the end of October.
