Agenda Books and Homework Folders- On the first day of school, your child
got an agenda book and a Chittick School take-home folder. During
the day, he or she gets the chance to copy the assignments and reminders from
the chalkboard into the agenda book. Please read the agenda book each night
so that you can help reinforce good study habits. The take-home folder has
the corresponding homework sheets as well as important notices, so be sure to
look at it each night. Your child should get into the habit of showing
you the take-home folder every night.
If your child forgets homework or something for class, he or she will
receive a blue zero or unprepared note. Please sign it and return it to
school the next day. These notes are an important home-school communication
tool. In addition, all tests and quizzes must be signed and returned the next
school day. If you would like to review the test or quiz for an additional
day, please write a note. Then send it back to school when you are finished.
Regarding zeros, after 3 missed assignments, the zero may begin to
affect the grade in that subject, and I will call you to discuss ways we can
work together to help your child. The goal is for the children to build
effective study habits that will stay with them throughout their schooling.
