Mr. Bressler is happy to be teaching fourth grade at Chittick School.
He also has taught first and third grade. In addition to his work as a
classroom teacher, Mr. Bressler is an accomplished musician. He has written
music for several theater productions by producer/director/writer Michael
Taubenslag, whose Theater Week has become a Chittick PTA annual event. Mr.
Bressler has accompanied the Chittick School chorus, under the direction of
Miss Camillone.
Mr. Bressler and Mrs. Anderson are the co-advisors to Chittick
News Network, the video newsmakers club at the school. Children in fourth and
fifth grades are welcome to join and produce 10 minute, weekly newscasts.
The programs, which feature interviews, a community calendar, and student
presentations, are seen by the entire school on Friday mornings. On special
days, Chittick News Network presents unique programs such as the 2006 Read
Across America special. CNN's broadcast for the 300th anniversary of Benjamin
Franklin's birth, produced in association with the Chittick fifth grade, was
acclaimed by students, faculty, and Franklin himself (as played by Mr. Bressler).
Mr. Bressler is proud of the students at Chittick School and enjoys
working with them every day as they make discoveries about their world.
Our class mission is to provide a safe, friendly, and interesting learning
environment in which all children feel free to take chances as they discover
and learn new things. Sometimes we work with the other third grade classes in
order to build a sense of community among the children.
