What should I do if my child needs to miss school?
Students are expected to attend school daily unless they are ill or a family
emergency occurs. To report an absence, parents must call the school
attendance number (732) 613-6830. The Board of Education permits excused
absences for the following reasons: personal illness, death in the family,
religious holidays, court appearances, administratively approved absences.

How can I find my son’s lost coat?
A lost and found box is located in the main lobby of the school. Parents
are encouraged to check frequently for lost items. Unclaimed items will be
donated periodically to charitable organizations.

What should I do if I need to visit the school?
Upon arrival to Chittick School, all visitors are required to report to the
Security Desk in the front lobby with a valid driver's license or other form
of identification. A visitor's pass will be issued and must be worn for the
duration of your visit. For security purposes, visitors are prohibited after
4:00 p.m., except to attend scheduled events. In addition, parents are not
permitted to go to classrooms after 4:00 p.m. to obtain any forgotten items.
--------------------------------------
What is the cost for buying lunch?
Students may either bring or purchase lunch. A menu will be sent home
monthly. The price for a school lunch is $2.35. Students may purchase
weekly tokens on Friday mornings in the cafeteria or bring money daily.
Families entitled to reduced price or free lunches must make arrangements
directly with the school nurse. If students forget their lunch or money,
they may obtain an I.O.U. from the Security Guard. A student may borrow only
once and must repay the loan before he/she can borrow again.
