Please check periodically for homework updates.
Please remember to review the contents in your child's homework folder
together daily. We will be discussing the importance of responsibility this
year and would love the extra reinforcement at home. Make sure your child
packs and unpacks his/her backpack and takes on other responsibilities such
as packing a snack or lunch. Homework is a reflection on the individual.
Please make sure work is completed and in your child's best handwriting.
Children who do not complete work will have to complete it at a later date.
STUDENTS: Any work that goes home with a "fix and return" stamp or with
anything circled must be corrected and handed in the next school day. Before
handing in any assignment, please check to make sure it is your best work and
that your name is visible.
Math Homework will be sent home Monday-Thursday. Home Links should be
checked and returned each day. Math addition and subtraction facts should
be memorized. Mad Minutes will be given every now and then to test for fact
power.
There will be additional homework sent home for reinforcement of the social
studies program one to two times a week.
ILA homework may be sent home during the week to reinforce what we are
learning in class.
Any work that is sent home will relate to material that has been covered in
class.
Your child will become familiar with the homework routine rather quickly and
I will keep you informed of my expectations. I believe in open communication
between parents and teachers. If your child is really struggling with a
particular assignment, please write a note on the assignment and I will do my
best to spend some additional time with your child with the particular
concept(s). Homework should not take hours to complete at this grade level.
