| This past week our shared reading book was The Three Little Pigs. We learned how to spell our number
words. We also learned the sound for the digraph "ch". We also read the story The True Story of the
Three Little Pigs! which is an account of the story told from the wolf's point of view. We compared the
two stories - finding the similarities and differences - by using a Venn diagram. We will soon be
learning the short i sound.
In math we have been learning about patterns both visual and observed on the number grid. We even
found patterns when counting by 2's, 5's and 10's.
We have also been learning about the very first Thanksgiving. We have learned about the Pilgrims and
their long journey to this country. We have learned about the Native Americans and their role in helping
the Pilgrims. We even noticed the patterns in the Native Americans clothing and beading. We will even
have our own modified Thanksgiving snack on Wednesday.
Remember November 21st is a half day of school. Dismissal will be 1:45
Have a very wonderful Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be thankful for!
