Hello everyone! I have been teaching at Chittick School for eleven years. I
received my undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University and a masters
degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix.
Outside of school I live in a nearby town with my five year old son, Vincent,
and our two Boston terriers, Chloe (7) and Tug (1).
When I’m not busy with my family and school, I enjoy reading, scrap booking,
watching baseball (Go Yankees!), and football (Go green, J-E-T-S), and
getting involved in some sort of craft hobby. I enjoy watching television
too, but I’d rather keep myself busy with a house project.
To develop lifelong learners and to have fun doing so! You can also help too.
Promote Good Reading Habits
Here are some easy ways to promote good reading habits with your child.
1. Be a good role model for your child.
2. Visit the Public Library.
3. Have your child read to you.
4. Read to your child.
By maintaining good home-school communication, together we can encourage
your child to find their independent reading level.
A Good Reader . . . .
* Sets a purpose for reading,
* Makes predictions before reading,
* Looks for little words in big words,
* Skips it and reads ahead, then goes back and rereads it again.
* Asks "Does it make sense?"
