Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
Welcome to the Resource Center in Chittick School! My name is Mrs.
Gorman and I am looking forward to working with your child this year.
In the Resource Center, your child will work on skills and goals
outlined in his/her IEP. These goals are made with the intention of helping
your child function as independently as possible in the classroom. I will
address these goals through various supplemental and curriculum materials.
In addition, your child will be immersed in a multisensory reading and math
program that will provide him/her with the tools needed to become a more
strategic learner.
It is important to help your child develop good work and study habits
at home. Please help your child establish a homework routine and provide a
quiet place to work. It is essential that you offer support and
encouragement during homework time. After the homework is completed, and
you have checked it, please ensure that it is placed in your child’s book
bag so he/she is prepared for school. I am counting on you to be a partner
in your child’s education!
I am confident that your child will have a rewarding and successful
experience in the Resource Center this year. If you have any questions or
