Announcements

OCT 9: FINAL ELECTION EVENTS ARTICLE - Election Events Article #5 is being
changed FROM Oct 23 TO Oct 30 (because of half-day scheduling during Parent-
Teacher conference week).

OCT 7: EVENTS LEADING TO THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION TEST - MONDAY OCT 13.
Study Guide & additional notes have been posted under Handouts/Documents.

OCT 6: Your presidential want-ad must meet the requirements specified on
the handout (use this as a checklist to make sure you have completed the
assignment). The layout/style ETC. is otherwise up to you! Try to keep the
ad as close to 50 words as possible. NOTE - Do NOT make up the information
on this want-ad. You must be as accurate as possible (there are right &
wrong answers!). Reference the Constitution (Article II) in your textbook.

OCT 1: Sample Want-Ads have been placed under "Handouts/Documents". These
are NOT Presidential Want-Ads but actual want-ads from the Star Ledger. Use
these ads to help you with the style and format of the ad you are creating.
In order to view the image, make sure you zoom-in (when the mouse is over
the image, you should have an option to click and zoom-in to read the ads).

SEPT 29: GRADE PROGRESS - I will be distributing your current grade point
average in class (as of today). IF you have a D+ or below, you MUST see me
to set up a time to discuss your progress (this meeting is not optional, we
must meet as soon as possible). Available times are before/after-school or
during 5th period lunch in room 309 (I can also meet with students who have
9th period lunch in the cafeteria).

SEPT 24: REMINDER - Election Article summary MUST HAVE THE ACTUAL ARTICLE
ATTACHED!! No late articles will be accepted & no excuses! Assignment was
given Sept 11th.

SEPT 23: VOTER REGISTRATION HAS BEGUN! Churchill will be holding a school-
wide Mock Election. In order to participate in the election, you MUST
REGISTER. Registration is open from Sept 23 - Oct 23. Registration forms
can be found in our classroom, main office, and at the security desk in the
North Wing. Fill out the form and then place it in the Registration box in
any of the history classrooms. If you do NOT register, you cannot
participate in the voting process on "election day" - Oct 30th.
ALSO - ELECTION EVENT ARTICLE #2 HAS BEEN PUSHED BACK!! It is now due on
October 7th, NOT October 2nd. We will NOT have an Election Coverage day
next week - we will have two back-to-back coverage days the following week
(October 7th & 8th). Article #3 is still due October 8th.

SEPT 21: Keep looking for Election Event articles (I found 3 in today's
Sunday Star Ledger, how many can you find?). Don't forget, you CAN use your
Election Event articles for the Election Collage DUE MONDAY SEPT 29TH. You
do NOT need to find an ADDITIONAL 2 articles for that assignment (but make
sure to have two copies of the article, one to go on the collage and one to
turn in for Election Events).

SEPT 17: A Study Guide for Friday's Quiz on the French & Indian War has
been placed under "Handouts/Documents". I will NOT be supplying you with a
copy of this in-class. If you would like to print your own copy, you must
do so from the website.

for late articles (Assignment was introduced Sept 11 - FIND YOUR ARTICLES
