What do I need to do to be successful in the 8th grade?

Follow these procedures, and there is no doubt that you will be successful.

1.	Every person must show respect towards others and their property.

2.	Come to class on time. When the bell rings, you must be in your
seat and working on the do now.

3.	The bell begins class and I end class. DO NOT pack up your things
unless you have been dismissed. Failure to follow this rule will result in
the offender being kept after class.

4.	Every person will come to class prepared. Your binder, loose leaf
paper, and a pen are required for class everyday.

5.	You are responsible for if you missed work due to being absent. I
will not chase you to see that the assignment is complete. It will remain a
zero (0) in the grade book until you show me the work complete. See me
(before or after the bell rings) or a classmate for missed assignments.

What is the homework policy?

Homework is assigned as needed; therefore, you will never get a
homework assignment “just because.” For that reason, it is extremely
important to have work completed (and in class) when it is due. Daily
homework assignments are worth 4 points. If you do not have your homework
on the day it is due, you will receive a 0. If you have missed 3 homework
assignments, you will be assigned a mandatory homework review date. At this
time, you will be required to stay after school and make up any of the work
that you missed. You will not earn points for the work that you make up at
this time.
