Select one of the two essay prompts below:

Option 1: Examine the deaths of Candy's dog and Lennie. Compare and contrast 
the companion responses and actions in the decision to "put them out of 
their misery."

Option 2: Is is moral that George kills Lennie?  Why do you think that 
George makes the decision to kill him? (Consider what might happen to Lennie 
if George decided not to kill him.)
