Announcements

Welcome to 9th Grade Honors History 2007-08. I look forward to meeting all
of you. Hope everyone had a nice summer. Please bring a notebook, folder, pen,
highlighter and pencil everyday. You can choose whatever type of notebook
works best for you. All written assignemnents must be handed in on loose leaf
paper or typed. No assignments will be accepted on paper ripped out of a
spiral notebook. All assignments are due on assigned dates-no late assignments
will be accepted.

We have the pleasure of starting this year with a new textbook-so please
purchase a book cover! The book sox are the best to use. It is a large book so
you might want to buy the biggest book sox size.

*Study Tips* Read your chapter section. Review and highlight your notes.
Review your video clip sheet and handouts.
Concentrate on "people, events, vocabulary, documents, legislation" for all
tests and quizzes. Make study cards. For example one side of the
card "Edison" on the other side "improved light bulb" and "wizard of Menlo
Park".

*Be sure to check with Mrs. McCormick as to when your resume presentation
will be. Just a reminder to dress as the individual in history and bring in
props. Practice as much as you can. Don't forget to look at the audience
and use expression when presenting.

Resume Reminders: Use the regular heading on the top of the resume.
Do not staple resume to works consulted.
                   You must have an objctive.
Must have a minimum of three categories.
Resume is only one page/one side.
