Events in order for 8th grade track and field: 55 Meter Hurdles (girls & boys jump same size hurdle) 100 Meters 1600 Meters (1 Mile = 4 laps around the track) 400 Meters (1 lap around the track) 800 Meters (2 laps around the track) 200 Meters (Half of one lap) 4 by 100 Meter Relay (Every relay runner runs 100 Meters) Long Jump,High Jump, Discus, and Shot Put are "open" pit which means the athletes leave after "checkin" to compete in their other events. “PRACTICE IS 90% PHYSICAL AND 10% MENTAL.
