About The Teacher
Welcome to Ms. Maffa’s English class. The purpose of this class is to provide the instruction, time and environment you need to become reflective and critical readers, writers and thinkers. In order to do so, I’d like you to keep in mind the following questions as we progress through the school year. How do others use words to express their ideas and opinions and to affect their audience’s worldview? What can we learn from what we read and apply to our own lives? How can we use words to learn more about ourselves and to show others what we know or believe? What kind of power is available through words?
