Did you know there are over 600 muscles in the human body?
Can you feel the pulse in your wrist? For humans the normal pulse is 70 heartbeats per minute.
Elephants have a slower pulse of 27 and for a canary it is 1000!
If all the blood vessels in your body were laid end to end, they would reach about 60,000 miles.
Your heart will
beat about 100,000 times today and more than 35 million times this year.
It needs the right fuel to run properly, and prevent the arteries from clogging up with
cholesterol.. Nuts, fish and whole-grains have been proven to support heart health by lowering
cholesterol and providing the body with anti-oxidants.
Maximum Heart Rate – 220 minus your age. 220 – 13 = 207
Resting heart Rate should be about 60-80 beats PER MINUTE
Target Heart Rate – 60 – 80 per cent of your MAXIMUM heart rate. You take this pulse during or
just after exercise.
Recovery Heart Rate – How long it takes in minutes to return to your resting heart rate.
