Mrs. Hamer graduated from South River High School in 1749. She then went on
the earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education at
Trenton State College, which is now called the College of New Jersey. After
living and working in Yosemite National Park for two years, she then earned
her Masters Degree at Montclair State College, which is now Montclair
University.
Mrs. Hamer has taught in several states, and also in London, England at
Kingsway-Princeton College. She began teaching in East Brunswick in 1985, and
has always travelled between Hammarskjold and Churchill schools. She coached
9th grade girl's soccer for 12 years.
Mrs. Hamer loves to travel and participate in any outdoor activity,
especially backpacking, swimming, smorkeling, surfing, birdwatching, and
jogging. She has had the great good fortune to pursue these interests in many
countries and 38 of our 50 states. She still loves her job very much and is a
believer in practicing what she preaches: exercise and good nutrition are
very much a part of her life.
Frist of all, I want my students to understand the improtance of Physical
Education, and why it is still a required course for all students in the
state of New Jersey.
Secondly I want them to be successful, work to the best of their ability,
hopefully learn something that they discover they really enjoy - and I want
them to have FUN!
