FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
  1. What is preparation?
  2. What is coachability?
  3. When can I ask about my grade?

What is preparation?

Sneakers, obviously. In addition; shorts, sweatpants, or jogging pants are
to be worn(NO JEANS). T-shirts, sweatshirts, polo(collared shirt)shirts are
to be worn as well. When we go out, you may certainly wear a jacket, but
please keep it zipped or buttoned up for safety reasons. Clothes should be
free of offensive slogans and advertising. Students who are unprepared but
have sneakers will be expected to participate, although I receive the right
to occasionally sit those people, as well.

What is coachability?

This is being receptive to instruction. It is being easy to work with,
willing to try and better one's self, and trying a different method of
performing a skill. It is accepting that previous habits, which occasionally
result in success, may not be a successful means to an end.

When can I ask about my grade?

During the marking period, you can ask about your grade anytime. If I have
my roll book, I will be glad to share your strengths and weaknesses.
Remember, you're grade is subject to change(for better or worse) and it is
based only on what I have to date. DO NOT ask for your grade the last week
of the marking period up to and including report card time. I will not tell
you when there is nothing else you can do to enhance your grade. Your grade
will be reported on the report card, that is what the report card is for.
