Top Text Title: Top Text: "The Northside" is a newsmagazine show produced by Community Middle School 8th graders and Freshmen and Sophomores from High School North (HSN). The show features stories from events happening at both Community & HSN. The CMS stories have included the AMIGOS "March of Fashion" fashion show, Teen Zone nights, and the 8th grade girls basketball team who completed their second straight season undefeated. The purpose of the cable program is to highlight special events, activities, and people recognitions taking place at either Community Middle School or High School North. Mr. Lepore, Community's 8th Grade TV Production and 7th Grade Journalism teacher serves as the executive producer of the show, and the students serve as the producers, directors, camera people, sound people, and other crew members for the production of the show. In addition to producing, the students conduct interviews, write, and edit the stories included in each broadcast. "The Northside" is a natural extension and application of the TV Production and Broadcast Writing electives that students take at both Community Middle School and High School North. Students involved in the production of this cable program use the writing skills and video/television production knowledge they have acquired from the classes in order to produce a quality television program for their community. The Community Middle School PTSA has proudly supported Mr. Lepore and his students in the past by awarding his department Mini Grants to fund various equipment purchases. More information about the Mini Grant Program is available on this website. "The Northside" can be viewed on one of two cable channels now serve the residents of Plainsboro and West Windsor Townships: Channel 3: Plainsboro Township and Channel 27: West Windsor Township.
