The first verse for this year was reviewed: I Juan 4:8 "...Dios es amor."
The students learned names of some people in the community by using the
vocabulary in greetings and introductions on pp. 4,5 of the Bridge unit.
This unit reviews vocabulary and grammar, introduced last year. Some of the
vocabulary includes: chico, chica, un policía, una estudiante, un señor, una
señora, una señorita...
Homework: Study verse and complete worksheet #1.
9/17,18
Everyone did a super job saying the verse. Last weeks vocabulary was
reinforced by checking homework and doing activities in the book. The
difference and importance of the familiar and formal greetings, and the
subject pronouns with the verb "ser"was studied.
Homework: Complete worksheet #3 The report paper was handed out. Students
are to choose a topic and write a report due by Dec. 1.
9/24- Teacher absent
9/26- New verse was written in notebooks then the class viewed a video on
Puerto Rico (different from the 7th G viideo)
No Homework
10/15,16
The students had a general review of topics covered up until now in
preparation for a quiz next week. A new verse was introduced and written in
notebooks to study. New vocabulary of action words was introduced.
Homework: Study for quiz next week
10/22,24
The students worked on the verse and reviewed action words with a
situational overhead. The quiz was taken followed by introduction of new
vocabulary of descriptive words.
Homework: Complete worksheet
10/29 (Th. class was cancelled due to testing)
The verse, Salmos 51:10 was practiced and homework checked. The students
wrote descriptions of themselves, using descriptive words then they tried to
guess who it was. Everyone enjoyed the activity. Color words were reviewed
to use with clothing vocabulary.

11/12,13
The versed was practiced in preparation of oral recitation next week.
The students reviewed descriptive words by checking homework and completing
activities in book together. Color words were reviewed also to use them to
describe some clothing vocabulary.
Homework: Verse quiz next week and quiz on descriptive words.

11/19,20
The students said the verse nicely then completed a short quiz after
review with overheads. A new topic of Familia or family members was started
and Thanksgiving cards were made. ¡Feliz día de dar gracias¡
Homework: Family tree and work on report- due Dec. 10/11
12/3,4
A portion of Lucas 2:11 was introduced: "...ha nacido hoy un
Salvador..." Names of family members were reviewed with activities in the
book. The students were introduced to the months of the year and revisited
numbers 11-100 in order to give birthdates of family members. A worksheet
was completed together.
Homework: complete worksheet 25 and hand in REPORT**
