Well It looks like spring is finally here and with it festivals, concerts, parades and graduation.  Please look at the calendar on my page for concert dates but the next few that are coming up are.

Our Spring Band and Chorus Concert will be held on Wednesday May 22nd at Walnut Street School 7:00 pm  Admission is $2.00.  Followed by the Memorial Day Parade Students should meet at Walnut Street School at 11:30 am. 

Our 5th through 8th grade band students are invited to play in the Delanco Memorial Day parade Sunday May 26th.  We will board the float at WSS at 11:00 pm.   The parade begins at 12:30 from Larchmont ave all the way back to the school. 

We will also be doing the Riverside parade on Monday May 27th at 8:45 am.  Students will need to be dropped off at the parade staging area on Bridgboro street with their instruments ready to go.   The parade begins at 9:30 and ends near the fire house in riverside.  I will give you an exact drop off address when I have it.

the Walnut street concert band and Jazz band along with Riversides bands will be performing a free Outdoor Concert at Hawk Island Marina at 7:00 pm on June 6 th. 

On Friday June 7th the 5th graders along with a few of the 4th graders will be performing in the first ever All South Jersey Elementary Band Festival.  Hosted by RV High School.

Summer Band Registrations will be going home this week.  (May 15th)

Evidence continues to focus on the arts (music) as a vital component in the positive growth of every child. For years we have pointed to the music students as those who have demonstrated a special talent. However, based on extended studies we now know it is the very process of learning music that develops the artistic mind and brings forth the creative potential in all young people. For this reason, continued membership in our musical family is strongly encouraged. I work very closely with all of the teachers and if there is a problem we will work together to resolve it.
