About The Teacher

Welcome to the Academic Skills Improvement Program (A.S.I.P.) Reading!

As the Reading Specialist for Dogwood Hill, I assess each child's reading and
writing level and identify strengths and weaknesses in their skills. When a
need is identified, I work with the student in small groups, three to five
times a week for thirty to forty minutes.

I received my B.S. in Education from Seton Hall University and my Masters in
Reading from William Paterson University. I began teaching at Dogwood Hill in
1999 and previously taught for ten years in the Teaneck school district. I
continue to take additional graduate courses in an effort to stay abreast of
current trends in reading/writing strategies and education.

Mission For The Class

Reading opens the doors to our universe and facilitates a lifetime of
learning. My goal is to create independent thinkers, strategic readers and
creative writers. I hope to inspire and encourage a "love of learning" in my
students.
