When does school start and end?

On a regular school day, we begin at 8:35am. As soon as you enter the
classroom, the day begins. You will get the most out of your education if you
are there on time! We take a break from 11:50am-12:50pm for lunch and recess!
Our exciting fun day ends at 3:10pm when I will be very sad to to see you go.
However, there will be another fun day tomorrow! :-)

Help! There's a half day or delayed opening. What do I do?

Our half days still begin right at 8:35am and end at 12:40pm. No lunch is
served. However, I will be sure to make some time in our schedule for a
working snack.

Our delayed openings begin at 10:05am and end at 3:10pm. Our lunch and recess
remains the same from 11:50am-12:50pm.

Can I bring a snack?

Yes! We will have a working snack every day. Please feel free to bring in
healthy snacks such as a vegetable, fruit, jello, etc. You are also more than
welcome to bring in a juice box or bottle of water. No soda or glass bottles
will be allowed. You may also keep a bottle of water on your desk throughout
the day. You may refill your water bottle after lunch. :-)

What is the homework policy?

Each student is expected to write down his/her homework daily and complete it
at home along with 15 minutes of reading. The reading log should be signed
by a parent/guardian. I will keep a daily record of who completes their
homework. At the end of the month, you will receive a free homework pass if
the reading log is completely filled in.

If you did not complete your homework assignment, you must complete your
homework that night and turn it in the following day. In addition, you will
receive a pink slip that will be signed by mom and dad.

I will ALWAYS look over homework assignments! Some may be graded for certain
content areas while others will tell me if you are on the right track! :-) By
doing this, we will be able to provide just the right amount of support and
encouragement as we make it through this challenging, but rewarding year together!
