We are beginning to work on visualizing. Visualizing is making pictures in your mind while reading. We will continue to discuss the pictures we are making in whole class while we read picture books and also in our guided reading groups. Independently, we are continuing to record our thinking while we are reading using our thinkmarks (and all of our reading strategies: prior knowledge, connections, questioning, visualizing). Writing: We are setting the foundation for our writing program with the six traits of writing. We will begin to focus on using voice in our writing. This year, we have worked on Ideas, Organization, & Word Choice.
