Helpful Tips for Homework at Home:
1. Create a drawer filled with extra school supplies (pencils, crayons,
markers, paper, etc.)
2. Discuss with your child a consistent place to do homework every single
night. Consider if this place is quiet for your child to concentrate. Is it
far away, but close enough to you so your child attempts the homework first
and then can ask a question?
3. Remind your child to keep the planner out and check off each assignment as
it is done (if this helpful for him/her).
4. Extra time? Be sure to take time out (even on the car ride over to soccer
practice or dance class) to quiz your child on addition/subtraction facts. If
you have extra time at home, there are websites under the links section with
games relating to what we are working on in class.
