I decided to become a teacher when I was in 2nd grade. It has been a
life-long dream. Each and every day that I spend with my students is a dream
come true! Teaching is so much fun, because everyday I, too, learn something
new. I hope that I can share that love and joy of learning with my students.
I graduated with a BA in Elementary Education from Glassboro State College,
now called Rowan University. I received my MA of Reading Education at Western
Maryland College, now called McDaniel College.
I have a son, Christopher and a wonderful "daughter" Jenna. They have blessed
me with three very precious grandchildren: Dylan (6 1/2), Tyler (3) and Olivia
(2). Being a "Mommom" is the greatest joy of my life!
My husband, Ed, and I have been married for 33 years. During our married life
we have lived in Westminster, Maryland; Voorhees, NJ; Florence, NJ;
Englishtown,NJ; Highland Park, NJ; Tuckerton, NJ; and now in Westfield. He is
a native of Elmer, NJ. I was born in Obereichenbach, Germany. At the age of 2
my parents moved to NJ where I have lived ever since.
I love to read, go hiking in the mountains, quilt, work in my garden, fly
fish, sew, bake, cook, play with my grandchildren and travel to faraway
places. I love to entertain friends and family in our home.
My mission as a teacher is to create a caring and loving environment where my
students can build a foundation of love for being a lifelong learner. My
classroom will be a place to experience success without a fear of failure. I
want my students to learn that making a mistake is an important part of
learning and growing as a learner. A child’s successes and ability to be
persistent when facing a difficult task will be celebrated. My classroom
will be a place where children will learn to respect self and others, care for
others here and in the world, be responsible for self and others, learn to
work as a team member and understand that all people are different, unique and
very special!
